This section of the web page proudly presents all the fosters who have been blessed with loving families. A heart felt thank you to all those who have given our former fosters the love and life they deserve. It is you who make what we do worth the many hours of rotations and feedings, medical care and weekend hours up at the pet stores.
I started this non-profit animal rescue (501(c)(3)) in March of 2004 after working with several rescue/adoption groups over the last few years and being told that I could not pick up dogs off the street or that there were certain breeds that I could not rescue from the Animal Care and Control Center (The Pound) because of their breed.
If an animal is on the street, it needs help now!
Furthermore, I believe that all animals deserve a life and a good home regardless of breed.
I've been told I'm everything from angry to undiplomatic. Angry? You're damn right I'm angry!! On an average, there is over two thousand animals euthanized (murdered) EVERY WEEK in Maricopa County alone. If this were 1942, the world would react. Yet, we can't even get the state to address this. This atrocity is nothing less than genocide. Undiplomatic? Diplomacy does not seem to be working.
Oddly enough that's why I chose Robin Hood as the name for my animal rescue group. And that's why my motto is, "We don't have a friar, but we give a tuck about everyone."
To put an end to this atrocity, please spay or neuter your pet, put a collar with a tag (address, phone number, etc.) on your pet, microchip your pet or become a foster or adopt a pet from any of the animal rescue groups or animal control facilities in the Valley.
As with some of the other animal rescue groups, we do this out of our homes with our time and money after a regular workday, so donations of food, crates, carriers, money, and above all, volunteers who are willing to foster these homeless children until we can find them new homes are greatly needed.
We have a good selection of adoptable family members to choose from. With each one that finds a new family, another finds it's way to my door. Can you find it in your heart to somehow help these forgotten angels? If so please contact me at (623) 931-7499.
If you are involved with the education of children, we ask that you allow us to visit your school to further educate the children on being responsible pet owners. One of our goals is to teach the public how to take better care of a pet. And there is no better place to start then with children. In turn they will teach others.

As of August 18, 2008, you can help our fosters by sponsoring through the petfinder foundation. At the bottom of each one's story is a "sponsor me" button. You may use that to sponsor a particular dog or cat or just to financial support what we do.
We rescue first and foremost without regard to temperament, breed or size. There have been some of our fosters who when rescued have needed immediate medical attention.
There is Lance, a handsome golden retriever mix whose nose had been almost completely torn off. But that didn't stop us from rescuing him off the street. After surgery and a time for healing, Lance proved himself an awesome fellow. Lance, nose, and all is in his forever home.
And there is Sassie, a beautiful grey colored pit girl whose eye was bloody when she was rescued out of an alley. Instead of having the Humane Society take her and put her down because of her breed and injury, we took her to the vet's. It was found out her eye had been lacerated, and had to be removed. Even with only one eye, Sassie is still a beautiful girl. And we believe that someone else will also see that beauty in her.
The monies received through the "sponsor me" program will be used to help these wonderful souls who many other groups would not bother with given their breed or physical appearances.

We here at Robin Hood Animal Rescue believe that dogs and cats are to be loved as you would a child. They are so much like children. And the unconditional love they have for us is beyond comparison. They are so much more than a watch dog, mouse catcher or a family pet to keep outside.

If you see a possible addition to your family you can either call (623)931-7499 after 4:00 PM or stop by and visit us at the Petsmart at 59th Avenue and Northern on Saturdays or (2) Petco at the Loop 101 and McDowall on the first, third and fifth Sunday; and, (3) Petco at the Loop 101 and Northern on the second and fourth Sunday.
Our core adoption hours are 2:00 PM. to 5:00 PM. But the times vary given that we might be detained . Please call (623) 931-7499 for the times.
Our adoption fee for dogs/puppies is $130.00. This helps cover the medical costs (spay/neuter and shots) and the AVID microchipping. The adoption fee for cats/kittens is $ 75.00. This helps cover medical costs(spay/neuter and shots), AVID microchipping and testing.
If you have fallen for one of our beautiful foster children, there will be questions asked for a better understanding of the new life for both our foster child and adopting family. A Robin Hood Animal Rescue contract as well as a Petsmart or Petco adoption form will then be filled out.
We deeply care for each of our foster children so expect us to contract you now and then to make sure that everything is going well for both four legged and two legged family members. We hope that you will be touched by them as we have.
Thank-you for assisting us in giving a new (and better) life to these so very well deserving four legged children who have been discarded given the ignorance, laziness and stupidity of our fellow humans.

WE HAVE SO MANY WONDERFUL DOGS AND CATS WAITING TO BELONG TO THAT SPECIAL FAMILY.
To give you an idea: We have young and older. We have long and short hair. We have big, not so big, and small. We have dogs who need a bit of understanding and training to make them the perfect family member. We have dogs who are perfect just the way they are. We have cats with cat attitudes and cats who are more like dogs. (Those cats will have to excuse the reference to dogs.)

Please remember that dogs need to learn how we humans prefer to have them behave. We recommend that all dogs be trained. If not for your sanity, for their protection.
